A HUMBLE BEGINING
THE START OF A LEGACY
Outdoor Edge was founded in 1988 by David Bloch, a mechanical engineering student at the Colorado School of Mines, who turned his senior project—a knife designed specifically for hunters—into a full-fledged business launched from his garage. His first design, the Game Skinner, quickly gained traction for its practical performance in the field.
From day one, Outdoor Edge set out to blend engineering precision with real-world utility, crafting knives and tools built for hunters, anglers, and outdoor adventurers. Today, the brand remains true to that mission—delivering reliable gear that’s ready for every challenge the wild throws your way.
LAUNCHING OUTDOOR EDGE INTO
NEW TERRITORY
Introduced in 1998, the Kodi-Pak quickly became the company’s flagship product and was trusted in hunting packs for over two decades. It was developed to solve a simple problem: carrying the right tools for every stage of big game processing without the bulk or weight of a full tool kit. Combining three purpose-built tools into one compact system, the Kodi-Pak reflected Outdoor Edge’s core philosophy — practical innovation rooted in real-world use. As a result, the company doubled in size and further positioned Outdoor Edge as a major brand in the outdoor hunting space.
THE NEW STANDARD IN
GAME PROCESSING
In 2002, Outdoor Edge revolutionized game processing with the launch of the GameProcessor—the companies first all-in-one field dressing kit. Designed for serious hunters and outdoor enthusiasts, this 11-piece set brought together everything needed for field-to-freezer success.
Building on that success, Outdoor Edge quickly expanded into additional game processing kits—like the ButcherLite and Wild series—serve hunters at every level, offering reliable tools for every step of the harvest.
INNOVATION IN THE FIELD
THE SWINGBLADE
In 2010, Outdoor Edge introduced one of its most iconic innovations: the SwingBlade. The SwingBlade was the result of a unique international collaboration between Outdoor Edge founder David Bloch and EKA Knives of Sweden. Together, they set out to solve a common field dressing challenge—and created a game-changing solution.
The SwingBlade features a dual-blade design, allowing hunters to effortlessly switch between a drop-point skinner and a gutting blade with the push of a button—making field dressing safer, faster, and cleaner.

RAZORSAFE®
In 2013, Outdoor Edge transformed field dressing with the launch of the RazorSafe® System—a patented design that lets users replace blades instantly without sharpening. It all started with the RazorBlaze, a lockback hunting knife featuring surgical-sharp, heat-treated blades that replace with ease.
This innovation redefined reliability in the field, making dull blades a thing of the past. Today, the RazorSafe lineup includes several models across hunting, everyday carry, and work; delivering performance trusted by hunters, outfitters, and adventurers worldwide.
DRIVING EVOLUTION THROUGH

The RazorSafe® System has evolved from a revolutionary replaceable blade concept into a comprehensive cutting solution, offering blade sizes from 2.2" to 5.0" and nine specialized profiles for tasks like skinning, field dressing, and EDC. This customizable system provides hunters, anglers, and professionals with the convenience of tool-free blade changes for any task.
Building on this success, Outdoor Edge introduced SawSafe™, a locking system designed to handle the push-pull motion of sawing. With improved stability, safety, and control, SawSafe enhances the RazorSafe system’s versatility, making it even more powerful and efficient.
