Outdoor Edge Celebrates 30 Years

Blog-Outdoor Edge Celebrates 30 Years-Outdoor Edge

This year we are celebrating our 30-year anniversary. Founder and owner David Bloch debuted Outdoor Edge's first product, the Game Skinner—an ulu style skinning knife—at the SHOT Show in Las Vegas in January 1988. Bloch created the knife as his senior design project while attending the Colorado School of Mines. After graduating with an engineering degree in 1986, Bloch refined the design, sought out a manufacturing facility in Japan and began production.

From its humble beginnings as a one-man show with four prototype samples, Bloch’s company, Outdoor Edge, has grown significantly in the past thirty years. Currently, the company has 24 employees and offers more than 120 products. Originally based in Boulder, Colorado, the company moved to a larger facility in Denver in 2010.

“This is an incredible milestone for any company,” said Bloch. “Outdoor Edge has achieved this success through the hard work, passion and dedication of our team members. We have devoted ourselves to 30 years of providing our customers with the highest quality, most-innovative products and greatest customer service available. In 2018 we are excited to introduce several innovative new products and to unveil an updated brand identity which includes an evolution of our logo and packaging. It’s been a great run and we look forward to another 30 years of quality products and service.”
