Rusted and pitted blade |

I never used the gutting blade just used it to skin and cut up moose meat. That blade worked great, but I always hand wash my knives and sit them on a towel to dry,my gut blade rusted and got pit holes in it. It was inside the handle and when I went to go use it next time I noticed my blade was no good. I went to store where I got it and they tried to get warranty but the rep said I put it in dishwasher which is untrue, so never gave me warranty. :(

K,
I regret to hear that happened. That is very unusual that the lock on your knife failed. We have had exdcellent success with the lock mechanism on the Flip n' Zip. It is very dependable. Can you call us at 800-447-3343 and send the knife back to our offices for warranty repair or replacement.

Gut Blade Danger |
April 18, 2012 |

I am a hunting guide in South Texas. I clean hundreds of animals, everything from huge Nilgai antelope, whitetails, hogs, and turkeys. The first time I used the gut blade on a Nilgai cow and had the blade fold backwards onto my fingers and when it did it twisted and slice my thumb open. Being literally the first time I used it I thought surely I was the one who did something wrong. The next animal was and whitetail buck that same day. I wanted to use my new knife, so I pulled it out and made sure it was locked into place. Started to make the slice up the soft skin on the gut and had the blade fold backwards on me again. Apparently the locking mechanism was failing on it making it fold backwards. Be very careful if you buy this knife because it can be very dangerous and I am just lucky that my injury wasn't anything worse than a slice down my thumb. I am just warning people because I know if it happens once it can happen again. Be WARNED

the flip n' blaze is by far one of the best field dressing, and game cleaning knives i have ever owned, compact, immune to wear and tear of any kind, and not to mention its design is completely original, unlike any other blades from any other companies. I would highly reccommend this as well as the swingblade(blaze) to anyone looking to make their field dressing, a whole lot easier. It is great for novice hunters, who are dressing out their first animals, as well as the seasoned veterans who have dressed dozens of animals. for those hunters who are looking to amp up their game cleaning, as well as their over-all hunting experience, most definitely go with Flip n" blaze, swingblade, or any of outdoor edge's valuable accessories. i most definitly wouldn't buy anything else, the others just don't cut it.
